Bronwyn Sherwood

I have always had a creative urge, ever since I was little. I went to college and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Art, but found myself listening the voice of logic (“You really expect to make a living as an artist? C’mon…”) and instead of following my passion I chose to pursue another career path. I do not regret this decision, as it provided security while my husband and I raised our family. However, I got caught up in this day-to-day repetition of life, which didn’t leave much time for myself, and over the years, almost like a pressure cooker, I’ve been known for my out-of-the-blue bursts of creativity. These bursts fed my soul and maintained my sanity.  Going forward, I have decided to listen to my inner muse. I need to create. More. And on a consistent basis, not just every now and then. I enjoy everything about the entire mosaic process. Trust me, if you pay attention to all those details, just watch — the pieces will all come together and the big picture will eventually show itself. It’s magic. I am inspired by color, design, light, language, sometimes trite phrases, but mostly wonder, connectivity and relationships. I enjoy both large and small scale projects using vitreous glass, tile, found objects and beads.
