James A. Willis

Title: Nashville Power Lines
Dimensions: 16" x 20"
Value: $2500
Born and raised in south Georgia, painter & sculptor James A. Willis is best known for his stylistic oil & acrylic paintings, which capture the dynamic, everyday beauty of NYC & Nashville as well as the dramatic color shifts weather and light have on the skylines, architecture, people, and streetscapes of both places. “I see the two cities I call home as living, breathing subjects,” says Willis. “They have infinite moods and complexities.”
In addition to his paintings and drawings, Willis was the inaugural artist in residence at Gibson Custom Guitars in Nashville, and has explored many unexpected mediums.
He designs and paints motorcycles, surfboards, and musical instruments, and sculpts in both leather, metal, and traditional materials.
Wills's art can be found in important private and corporate collections around the world, and he has had multiple solo exhibitions at the George Billis Gallery in NYC. He recently completed a series of large-scale landscapes and a 15'-high limestone fountain, all of which are displayed at the new City Hall complex in Bainbridge, GA. Willis has been profiled in numerous publications, and one of his cityscapes appeared on the cover of Art & Antiques. His leatherwork is carried exclusively by Johnnie Q in Franklin, TN. Willis is the part recipient of an art endowment from CHASHAMA, a nonprofit arts organization in New York City.

Includes an 11x14 print on canvas. A total of 3 sessions will be auctioned.
Value: $500
"The relationship between guardian and dog is unexplainable. My work interprets that love as a family heirloom that lives on after the parting.”
Peter Nash - Nashville 2014
PORTRAITS IN FUR is the perfect reward for a portrait artist. Without love of subject there is no art. The connection between the subject and myself reflects that love. I’ve gone from Dolly Parton to poodles. From George Jones to Jack Russells. From Lyle Lovett to Labradors. All in the blink of an eye. After 25 years of shooting Country Music artists (I saw more Men In Hats than a Marine DI) I’ve turned my lens to those who have provided a lifetime of love.

Alan Jackson
Seasons of Sweetbriar
A Photographic Collection of Home by Alan Jackson Hardcover Book Value: $200 “Alan, an avid photographer, wanted to capture the natural beauty of the home he built for his family. Thinking of the inevitable day when his girls would move away to follow their own path in the world, Alan began a collections of photos that would remind them of the unassuming beauty that they called home, Sweetbriar. Sweetbriar, created by God, bound by the Harpeth River and guarded by hand laid rock walls from years ago, is a 140 acre valley shadowed by the Tennessee hills and has quietly graced the lives of the Jackson family. Alan writes in the forward, ‘Small pieces of time and color woven together over several years – not just for coffee tables, but mainly for three “probably” homesick young women living away for the first time, longing for that place they call home and remembering the Seasons of Sweetbriar.’ You’re bidding on a unique collection of photographs personally taken by Alan Jackson. Seasons of Sweetwater, not sold in stores, was only given to family and close personal friends. This book is a priceless collector’s item.” |

Custom Mosaic Guitar by Terri L. Fitzgerald

Dog Mosaic Guitar
Value: $325
I have always loved art - from the time when I was a child, I would draw and paint whenever I could. I moved with my family to Germany in 1998. While there, I had the lovely experience of seeing Monet's and Van Gogh's original works in person. To view these pieces up close and see the bristles left behind from each stroke was incredibly inspiring.
After returning to the states in 2010, I started creating art. What began as an experiment, has become what you see today. I love this medium - from choosing the instrument, to creating the design, to photographing the final product. Every piece is created from my heart and takes me on a journey. At the inception of each project, I never know the destination, but each one takes on a life of its own and with each is a piece of me.

After 30+ years in the graphic design business, I wanted an artistic outlet away from the computer. I’ve found it painting a subject that has always been a part of my life...dogs. I do bold, whimsical portraits of people’s canine pals under the watchful eyes of our Havanese, Diego and Olive, a Shih Tzu. I use acrylic paints because of the vibrant colors, primarily. I work from photos (cellphone pics are fine if the light is decent) and I like to know about the dog’s personality.

Kelly Schmitt Rice (3)
Throughout my life, I have experimented with different mediums and couldn't achieve the layering and ethereal qualities I wanted, so I ventured
into mixed media, especially using wax and embedded text. I am influenced by daily things around me and enjoy especially noticing the small details of life, that so many rush by. Stopping to really look microscopically into the heart of a flower. Rescued a baby squirrel, holding this precious animal in your hands, feeling blessed to experience their world for just moments. I paint what makes me happy, what inspires me and what stirs emotion. If that speaks to someone, I feel honored to share that with them. https://www.facebook.com/kelley.schmitt.rice

A signed copy of Deana Carter's new CD along with a signed photograph.

The daughter of famed studio guitarist and producer Fred Carter, Jr., Deana grew up exposed to the wide variety of musicians her father worked with, including Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Waylon Jennings, and Simon & Garfunkel. Their strong influence would eventually seep into Deana’s own country-pop style. Her debut album, Did I Shave My Legs For This? boasts six songs co-written and co-produced by Carter and was released to strong reviews in late summer 1996. By the end of the year, the record had climbed to the top of both the country and pop charts, quickly achieving multi-platinum status. A “first” for the genre, Deana’s celebrated debut held this distinction for more than 5 years. Carter recently opened her own label, Little Nugget Records, on which her latest album Southern Way of Life will be released.
Carter now divides her time between Los Angeles and Nashville, writing and producing for both the pop/rock and country markets when not on the road touring. Her superstar success continues to be evident as last year’s chart topper “You & Tequila”, co-written with Matraca Berg and recorded by Kenny Chesney, was nominated as CMA’s “Song of the Year”, as well as two Grammy nods, notable the coveted “Song of the Year” , and, also, received a nomination as ACM’s “Song of the Year”. Singer, songwriter, producer – Deana Carter continues to defy conventional expectations, making waves as she makes great music. Please thank Deana for helping Old Friends and "like" her FB page https://www.facebook.com/OfficialDeanaCarter.

Giclee Prints by Dana Hawk (4)

My name is Dana Hawk and I’m an artist living in the Greater New York City area. I grew up in a small town west of St. Louis, MO. To be more specific, I grew up outside of that small town. My playmates were my dogs and I loved hanging out with them. They were always happy, ready to go for hikes in the woods and seemed to sense my emotions before anyone else. Perhaps my dog paintings are a tribute to these childhood canines, as life seems to have a way of balancing out the giving and taking.
"I believe that to paint anything well, an artist needs the ability to uncover a deeper level of truth about a subject, and this curiosity is what keeps me inspired. Dogs and other animals are a good source of inspiration for me because a relationship or an encounter with a dog is always real and unencumbered, and you can get to the truth of that dog’s personality very quickly. Usually that truth is pretty humorous, so it’s a very enjoyable quest for me. "
As an artist and dog portraitist, I have been commissioned by dog owners across the country to paint their beloved, four-legged friends. Painting dogs and playing a small role in the human-canine relationship is something that I take great pride in. If you’re interested in a commission, dog portraits for sale or other paintings, please contact me. I’m happy to work with you.
Dana's wonderful dog, Clinker, is a pitbull-mix from the Summit County Animal Shelter in Colorado, where she waited to be adopted for 6 months. Pitbulls are prohibited in nearby Denver, which probably contributed to her lengthy stay.
Giclee prints retail for $50-$150 each www.danahawk.com

I absolutely love to take pictures. I love making you comfortable enough to get through the photo shoot and actually have fun, knowing that the end product will make you smile and so happy you did it! Not only for now, but in 10 or 20 years when you look back on these memories – I know they’ll make your heart sing. Something you will cherish forever.
I am part of a huge, amazing family from Staten Island, NY, whom I’ve been practicing on since I can remember. I have lived in LA for the past 20 years and feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I am the proud mother of 3 of the cutest senior rescue dogs, another passion of mine. That’s pretty much it – my camera and my dogs – rule my world.
I have been fostering, adopting, & photographing rescue dogs for the past 8 years. It is truly one of my greatest passions. I work with the Villalobos Pit Bull Rescue & Angel City Pit Bull Rescue along with visiting local city shelters to photograph & network shelter dogs in hopes of finding their forever homes.

Joss Rossiter - UK (3)
I started painting about 10 years ago and am mainly self-taught. About 4 years ago, people started purchasing my art and I have now sold over 100 pieces worldwide. I retired from a wonderful career as a teacher after 43 years, and never dreamed that I would have such a fulfilling second career. I love what I do. Every day is filled with new joy.
Early this year, I was doing a commission of a family with their pet, when I suddenly realized how much I loved doing the dog itself. So I started painting my unique, vibrant pet portraits and now get commissions for cats, dogs and even horses done in my whimsical style. This is
such fun, and when the fun stops, so will I. Commission me to do your very own pet, immortalised forever. I also sell prints of all my work.

Matt Micale (2)
I am a mostly self-taught, Asheville, NC based artist with a pseudo-pop style that meshes minimalism with small doses of realism. I use
bold, thick lines and vivid color to work with large areas of negative space to produce images that are as visually interesting as possible. I work primarily in ink and marker, with occasional forays into color pencil and watercolor. All work is original and is done by my hand. Title: Sundown at Dog Beach
Dimensions: 20x30
Medium: original painting on canvas
Estimated Value: $800
With bold brushstrokes, lush colors, and texture, Dina D’Argo captures the grace & beauty of her subjects. An animal lover and horsewoman, her focus is on celebrating the sacred bond between ourselves and nature. Dina works mainly in acrylic on canvas, with a refined yet dramatic blend of abstract & representational styles. Her work is full of symbolism and metaphor and visually expresses a deeper meaning beyond the image.
Dina D’Argo began her Fine Art career over 30 years ago, experimenting with a variety of media, participating in group shows and creating commissioned pieces. After earning her degree in Fashion Design in 1993 she began a successful design business in Los Angeles. Her return to painting full time followed a serious horseback riding accident that changed the course of her life and eventually led her to deepen her commitment to her lifelong passion for art. Originally from San Diego County, she spent the last 6 years on the edge of the Wao Hele O Puna Rainforest in Hawaii. Her paintings have been featured in galleries and private collections in Hawaii, California, Oregon, Amsterdam, and Tennessee, among other places. Dina now lives south of Nashville. Cody Hale
8x10 colored pencil custom pet portrait from photo
Value: $120
My name is Cody Hale, and I am an experienced illustrator and portrait artist. I have been a professional designer and illustrator for eight years, and I hold a BFA degree in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design. I started doing pet portraits about three years ago, when my wife and I started fostering dogs for a local rescue. The first pet portraits I did were of foster dogs in our care, and I enjoyed creating them so much that I knew it was something that I wanted to continue doing. My portraits are done from pictures, and I use colored pencil for the color portraits and graphite pencil for the black and white. Every pet is unique and I always strive to capture all the details that make them special. If you have any questions about my work please email me at [email protected].

Tammy Murray - ReUse It Art

Red Love with Brown Paw - Recycled Art approx 27x10 value $55
ReUse It Art was started as a way for me to create art using natural, recycled materials. I realized that I could turn old wood pallets that may be headed for a waste dump into artwork and re-use items such as river rocks and sea glass to give an art piece depth and dimension. It is important to me that I leave as small a footprint on this earth as possible and recycling just makes sense. Plus it looks cool.
I also have an incredible love for animals and nature, you will see this throughout my work. Some of the “Love” pieces were even created using the image of a cast of my beloved Toby’s paw after he passed. I have created similar pieces for others using a cast of their pet’s paw so they could remember their pet in a very special way. One of the best parts about doing art is spending time with my furry kids!
You can find out more about Tammy's artwork by visiting www.REUSEIT-ART.com.

Value: $600
Atlanta artist Katherine Bell McClure has been doing paintings of our Old Friends from Facebook photos. She indicates "I have always drawn and painted animals, so when I ran across the Old Friends Sanctuary on Facebook, I was taken with the groups of dogs as images in addition to the organization itself. All these dogs come to one place and get along with each other- such a happy thing to see; they remind me of a group of kindergarten children thrown together in a classroom! I want to capture that content feeling in my Old Sanctuary paintings. Also - I have several rescue pets at home- dog, cat, ducks, chickens and rabbits."

Alison Poland
Name: Capital Promenade III
10" x 30", charcoal on canvas, framed. Value: $600 Integrating her talent as an Architect and Figure Artist, Alison Poland exhibits her innate ability to bring to life our structural surroundings. Alison uses a colorful combination of charcoal and paint to dramatize and accentuate rudimentary details that would go unnoticed without her artistic attention and unique perspective on life. This is piece 3 of a series completed on the Capital Building in Nashville, TN. This is a unique piece because the artist demonstrates the architectural rhythm of the building's promenade through an abstract rectangle in the lower left hand corner. That is, the artist noticed that process of accessing this building is similar to the window configuration and proportions on the upper portion of the building. You first experience a grand stacked stair that leads up a hill to the more intimately proportioned entrance. Recently I have become a full time artist and with that comes a lot of excitement and possibility."

Susan Blair Truex

Title: Peace Rose
Medium: Oil on canvas, framed
Value: $350
A central theme you may see throughout my work involves women, children, animals and their space in our society. I have a special affinity with the roles of women in our lives, in both practice and symbolism. My husband and I moved to a three acre, wooded lot in the country and this proximity to wildlife and farm stock have given me a closeness to what may be a vanishing rural landscape. My impressions from living closer to the earth are a great part of my visual dialogue.
Susan will be the Oct 2014 featured artist at Gallery 202 in Franklin, TN.

Kristine Bougie (2)
I am often asked “Are those animals really as sweet [or cute] as you’ve drawn them?” My answer is simple: “Absolutely! I simply draw what I see. They may not be quite as interesting or endearing every moment of the day, but animals are so emotional and engaging and these moments do exist – and often. I feel we are privileged to live and interact daily with whatever animals surround us. Animals are charmers who provide me with endless inspiration and memorable moments. What you see in my drawings is what I do with my evenings and a humble pencil…my efforts to capture the gifts of the day.
I live in Middletown, Ohio, where I am visited daily by several feral cats and a multitude of squirrels and birds. Nightly, a family of raccoons and a very chubby opossum come to my porch and enjoy a small treat left there for them. My son’s small herd of much-loved alpacas and their best-friend, Thunder, a Golden Pyrenees (read: huge gold dog) live on Camano Island, Washington, where I lived for half of my life before retiring. Returning to Camano Island frequently is one of my joys, it is truly God’s country. [email protected] |

Autographed Photo of Scotty McCreery

In 2010, American fell in love at first sight with Scotty McCreery, then a shy 17-year-old boy with a wide smile, preternaturally deep voice and a love of faith, family and his hometown of Garner, N.C. Five months after winning Season Ten of American Idol, he released his debut album, Clear As Day, which became the best-selling solo album released by a country artist in 2011. Indeed, he became the youngest man in history to have his first album debut atop the all-genre Billboard Top 200 albums chart. In two short years, Scotty McCreery became one of country’s hottest new stars, with album sales topping 1.6 million, including a platinum-selling debut album that made Billboard history and helped him win several new artist awards. During this whirlwind career explosion, he performed for President Obama, sung the national anthem at the World Series, performed in the Macy’s Day Parade and put on shows from coast to coast.
