I was always drawn to portraiture from the time I picked up my first pencil. My childhood art always included horses and other animals. I never really started painting until I took a 6 week class in oil. I painted a dog portrait and everyone else did landscapes. The teacher had no idea what to do with me!

I have been painting pet portraits by commission since 1996 in oils, acrylics and watercolors. I paint on agates, canvas, gessobord, wood and jewelry. My pet portrait ornaments have become wildly popular. They have found their way into homes all over the United States, Canada and even Italy and Wales! I paint from the heart and capturing a dog’s true personality is my absolute goal!

My work has appeared several times in the national, juried Art Show at the Dog Show and has been published in the Paws for Charity book and also 1000 Dog Portraits: From the People Who Love Them. I also donate art work thru the year to various rescue groups.

I live in Tennessee with my husband Ron and three rescued dogs, Willa, Annie and Tug. Canine rescue has also been a passion of mine and we do transports and I co-manage a rescue Facebook page. Seniors are also dear to my heart and we have adopted two twelve year olds, our current one being Tug. Never
turn down adopting a senior, you will get back threefold in love what you won’t have in time with them. This is why I am thrilled to be included in Dog Art for Old Friends. Seniors are the best!
