Born in Nashville Tennessee, I am a professional graphic artist. Spending many hours a day on the computer, I noticed something was missing in my fine art, something that I had when I was a child and in college --- it was the tactile qualities of painting. I have learned that my graphic design influences my painting and vica versa.
I have always been in love by the diversity of nature. Patterns, colors, shapes. Comforted by watching the animals at their days lives. I have been a lover of nature and art since I can remember. As a child I would write books about animals and illustrate them, a graphic artist in the making.
Throughout my life, I have experimented with different mediums and couldn't achieve the layering and ethereal qualities I wanted, so I ventured into mixed media, especially using wax and embedded text. I am influenced by daily things around me and enjoy especially noticing the small details of life, that so many rush by. Stopping to really look microscopically into the heart of a flower. Rescued a baby squirrel, holding this precious animal in your hands, feeling blessed to experience their world for just moments.
