Laura Wilensky
Laura Wilensky has been a full-time studio ceramist since 1974 after graduating from SUNY New Paltz (BFA Ceramics 1973). Her narrative porcelains have appeared in many publications, including: Teapots, Makers & Collectors (2005); 500 Figures in Clay: Ceramic Artists Celebrate the Human Form (2004); Making Ceramic Sculpture
(2001); The Best of Pottery, vol.2 (1998); as well as Smithsonian Magazine (1981) and the New York Times. Her works have been in exhibitions at the New York State Museum, the American Crafts Museum, the Cooper-Hewitt Museum, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, and the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution as well as many private collections. In addition, she has exhibited and sold her work through fine crafts galleries,
nationwide, for over 39 years. She lives in upstate New York with her ceramist
husband, Henry Cavanagh.
