A multi-media artist, I began oil painting, self taught in 1983.  In 1994, I joined the Art Students League of Denver.   There I studied closely with Jay Moore, Kim Mackey, Doug Dawson until 1998. Through plain air painting, I discovered a new way of seeing.  Working on location is a source of balance for my spirit.  I still find myself out wandering with my kit packed with stretched linen, oils and bristle brushes searching for that wonderful space once more.  In 2001, I expanded my studio to include fine art restoration.  The challenge of channeling different methods and mediums to match each artwork is fascinating and archival restoration has become the main focus of my creative work.  It is accompanied by art commissions, fine art donation to fundraisers, and occasional entries into fine art competitions.

The artwork on the right is an image of an oil painting "Dog Paddle", created for and donated to, the Max Fund.  They are a local no kill dog rescue and shelter.

You can also see more of my work at Royce Galleries and Ferguson Gallery at Concordia University.

Buzz Boy
2014 Statue (Sold)

This dog artwork is named after my first family dog way back in the 1950's, a basset hound named "Buzz Boy".  He was incredibly faithful, and to reflect that wonderful part of his personality in this artwork, he has fetched the newspaper for us. The newspaper is a special Buzz Boy newsletter.  The  artworks newspaper is sealed and permanently rolled as it is shown
in the photo. He's painted loosely realistic because as an artist, I look at a dog and I can't
make it better or any more beautiful than they are just as a dog.  I don't see rainbows or abstracts, it's just what I do, I am a plein air impressionist.
