Ron York

In 1990, York, a retail merchant and interior designer, opened
his first art gallery. One year later, he picked up a paint brush and has yet to put it down. After 15 years of owning the award-winning gallery, he sold it to pursue his own art. However, many of the artists he had represented over the years had a different plan for him.

In January 2011, York opened another gallery. York & Friends
Fine Art currently represents 45 local and regional artists. The main gallery is in the Belle Meade area of Nashville with an additional art venue at Market Central in Memphis.

As a self-taught artist, York has found success with his
colorful, whimsical acrylic works on canvas and board. His art can be found in the collections of Pinnacle Bank, The Nashville City Club, Belmont University, First Baptist Church (Nashville), Avenue Bank, Volunteer Bank, Tom Collins Productions and celebrities Kelly Clarkson, Vince Gill, Keb’Mo’ to name a few, plus private collections here and abroad.

York serves on the Board of Directors for the Grammy-Nominated Alias Chamber Ensemble. He continues to work with several non-profit groups including Miriam’s Promise and STARS (Students Taking A Right Stand) on their annual fundraising events and a member of Art Galleries Nashville.  He has served on committees for Temple Arts Festival, The Belmont Community Art Show at Christ the King and co-chaired Art on the West Side Fine  Art & Craft Show 2014 at the Gordon Jewish Community Center.
