Traer Scott is an award winning fine art and commercial
photographer and author of five books including Shelter Dogs (2006) and Nocturne:
Creatures of the Night (2014). Her work has been featured in National
Geographic, Life, Vogue, People, O and dozens of other national and
international publications. She was the recipient of the Rhode Island State
Council for the Arts Photography Fellowship Grant and the Helen Woodward Humane
Award for animal welfare activism. Recent exhibitions of her work have been
held in Shanghai, the Netherlands, Great Britain and at Blue Sky Gallery in
Portland, Oregon. Traer lives in Providence, RI with her husband,
daughter and pit bull.

Home: Shelter Dogs and Their Stories will be released in Fall 2015 from
Princeton Architectural Press. Finding
Home is a follow up to the bestselling 2006 book Shelter Dogs and features portraits of 35 “shelter dogs” as well as
six feature stories that document the dogs lives as they transition from
shelter life to a forever home.
