I have been a child portrait painter for most of my life but several years ago my focus shifted to include animals, especially family dogs. Now my work is largely with aging animals, mostly dogs nearing life's end or beyond the Rainbow Bridge and as a special reminder for their families who cannot bear the sense of total loss. When time permits I write about some of these dogs and their lives at my blog:

I enjoy holding a dog's foot and decided I want a foot on a door knocker for my front door. It is a subtle reminder to my guests that I love and respect my very best friend.
