Value:  $1500

"In keeping with the spirit of old dogs, I am donating a painting of my beautiful boy, Elvis who was with me for 17 1/2 years. This was painted in his later years  when he was looking quite distinguished! It's been almost 3 years since he passed, and I still really miss this special guy- but I know he'd be glad his portrait will go to help other old dogs receive loving care."

Sharyn Richardson

Value:  $700 (Plus, the winning bidder will receive a $150 gift certificate toward a print or commissioned painting of a special family member. The slideshow Dogs in the Family
gives an overview of 40 of the dogs Sharyn has painted in the past five years.)

The shepherd painted here is Sam, worn out from life on the farm and enjoying a  satisfying midday rest among the cornstalks. But he’ll rise to greet anyone who comes along with an enthusiastically wagging tail. Sam understands the value of  the trade—he’ll give love and loyalty for a good home and someone who appreciates him.

I have been a child portrait painter for most of my life but several years ago my focus shifted to include animals, especially family dogs. Now my work is largely with aging animals, mostly dogs nearing life's end or beyond the Rainbow Bridge and as a special reminder for their families who cannot bear the sense of total loss. When time permits I write about some of these dogs and their lives at my blog:

Randy Ottenberg Parenti is a uniquely original contemporary American artist based in the San Francisco Bay area. Her goal is to transport the viewer into another dimension. She is influenced by the American landscape, from the deserts of the southwest to semi-tropical Florida to her beloved New Jersey shore. Randy conveys intensely personal, intuitive, dream-like images with just about anything she can attach to a canvas to produce a rich palate of color and texture that make for a sensual viewing experience.

Randy has worked for George Lucas's Industrial Light & Magic for 25 years. She is a  traditional modelmaker and has worked on over 50 major motion pictures and over  100 commercials. Her work on special effects movies at the ILM model shop has exposed Randy to a wide range of materials that she incorporates iinto her own artwork.  Her movie career spans  decades, starting with E. T. - The Extra-Terrestrial, the Star Wars episodes and the Indiana Jones series, and more
recently War of the Worlds, Pirates of the Caribbean and

"I have always  felt a special connection with the arts and crafts of native cultures. In my  paintings I want people to find that passion and love for different cultures and  nature.  To achieve this, I decided to combine my two passions; sand and  painting, because I believe sand is the perfect medium to show this connection.  I taught myself how to use the sand’s natural colors, adding textures and  highlights in a very unique way of painting using sand from around the world  from my collection now reach to over 250 locations, including sand from beaches,  lakes and deserts from every continent."

Joy Beckner

Picture
Name:  "Knock Knock"

(May also be used as business card holder)

Dimensions: 5 1/2”H x 3 5/8”W x 2 7/8”D

Retail: $850.00

Create a lasting first impression that is devoted to simple ideas that live forever - love and devotion. An abundance of door knockers in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, inspired me to create "Knock, Knock." There, I found many door knocker subjects, but this is the first one I've seen that expresses the love one has for a canine companion. I enjoy holding a dog's foot and decided I want a foot on a door knocker for my front door. It is a subtle reminder to my guests that I love and respect my very best friend.

Classical Realism, from Hounds to Humans. Each bronze, gold, or sterling silver piece is signed, numbered and includes my mark. Each is made by hand in the USA.  Joy Kroeger Beckner is inspired by sensuous shapes of skin, bone and muscle. She models wax into classical forms, which are then cast into bronze. She creates Awards, Medallions, and Medals for groups and associations. Her Dachshund Bronze Sculptures have earned numerous awards, and frolic in collections worldwide.
