Ana Zanor

Ana showed a talent for drawing and painting at a very young age. She began to study art and oil painting in elementary school and won several school and community art awards and scholarships. She attended Massachusetts College of Art and the School Of The Museum Of Fine Arts before earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Massachusetts.

While pursuing other professional work, she continued to paint over the years, until she was inspired to paint a portrait of a special family pet (Scarlett-Mae). The experience re-awakened her passion for painting and gave her a new subject. Now Ana combines her two loves: dogs and painting. The result? beautiful dog portraits.

Ana lives in the suburbs of Boston with her husband of over 20 years whom she met while at Mass Art. They share their home with four dogs, two cats and a snake.

"Each dog is so different--not just their physical traits but their personalities. That's what I strive to capture in my work for you. I want to give each owner a special experience when they see their dog as a work of art because I believe all of them already are.”

Day of the Dead

Ana's theme for 2015 is The Day of The Dead, which for those who may not know, is not as morbid as it sounds.  In fact, it is a celebration of the life that has been lived by those we have loved and lost.

Rainbow Bridge
2014 Statue (sold)

Ana says, "I've been thinking a lot about the soul of a dog. What makes them  happy? I see woods to explore that open to glorious fields begging to be run in, followed by a deep blue lake where they can cool off. These are a few of the things that I know my dogs would be truly filled with joy to run free in. It's the kind if scene I picture painting on a statue as I think of what is waiting for them on the other side of the rainbow.
